Known as the Cradle of Western Civilization, this city break to Athens offers access to a metropolis like no other. Set in the Attica region of Greece with a history spanning over 3,400 years, Athens attracts visitors from all over the world with its iconic temples, ancient monuments and cosmopolitan centre.

Of course, there’s more to Athens than its monuments. The cosmopolitan capital has a real mix of traditional and modern life. You can enjoy upmarket shopping, drinking and dining in luxurious surroundings, or traditional hospitality in Greek tavernas that have also stood the test of time.  Athens is full of restaurants, and Greek cuisine is notoriously rich and delicious.

Day 1: Arrival in Athens

Welcome to Athens, one of the oldest cities in the world with recorded history that dates back over 3,000 years. Philosophy, tragedy, comedy, history, art and architecture – all symbols of a city that is regarded as the birthplace of democracy. Your transfer from the airport to your hotel in the centre of the city, will last approximately 40 minutes. After that you have some free time to get a feel of the city at your own pace. Athens is vibrant and lively all year round!

Day 2: Athens tour

We start the day with a visit to the world-renowned sites of Acropolis and the Parthenon and later head to the New Acropolis Museum. In the afternoon we take a tour through downtown Athens and see the Panathenaic Stadium, Zappeion Hall, the Parliament building, the temple of Olympian Zeus, Hadrian’s Gate. We can optionally also visit Lycabettus hill to enjoy panoramic views of Athens and finish the day enjoying a dinner of modern Greek cuisine.
